In the Name of God Amen. I, Adam Deck of the County of Washington in the state of Virginia ...

And first I Will and order that all my just debts be first paid out of my movable estate.

Secondly I Will and bequeath to my loving wife Susannah Deck her bed & furniture also her lawful maintanance or right of dower, of the plantation I now live upon also an equal part with that of my children of my movable estate to my said wife Susannah,

thirdly I give and bequeath to my son Michael Deck the plantation I now live up on and all the land I now possess to him and his heirs forever excepting his mothers maintenance as before mentioned upon condition that he gives a suitable maintenance to my son George which I consider incapable of doing for himself, the consideration that I have bequeathed to him all my lands also to pay fifteen dollars in trade or commutable articles to cash of children in the manner and order following the first payment on after my decease to Susannah Grubb the next to my son John, the next to Jacob then Frederick and then Catarinah Simmerly allowing one year between each payment.

And all the rest of my personal estate, I Will and devise that it be equally divided among my children John Deck, George Deck, Jacob Deck, Frederick Deck, Michael Deck, Susannah Grubb and Catharine Simmerly each an equal part.

And I do nominate and appoint my sons Jacob Deck and Michael Deck to be executors ...
